πŸŽ€ May 2017 Wallpaper Calendar with Belle and Jenny Bear

I have so many projects going on at the same time sometimes I forget to show you what I've completed..such as this quilt for Belle!  Given it's the last day of the month, I wasn't sure I was going to get May's wallpaper ready for you before the start of next month.  I get one day during the week to spend on JLB and usually I have a bit of spare time on the weekend which I squeeze in between house chores.  This weekend though, my little boy come down with a cold given the recent change in the weather...Winter is coming for sure!  Usually with the cold, his asthma gets triggered which leaves me with sleepless nights, worrying that he can't breath during his sleep.  Thankfully, he's recovering quickly and is in good spirits playing with his legos and transformers which allowed me a little time to whip this up!
Please find below May's Wallpaper, there are two to choose from this month as I had created the first one and Daniel liked the second photo more so I'll let you decide which you like better! :D
Just visit my Flickr account for a larger pic here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/22546523@N03/?

I hope you have a wonderful month in May!!

Hugs,
Jenny

who needs to eat when you're making bears? πŸ˜¬πŸ˜€

It was forecast to rain and today I got to stay home and work on my new Jenny Bear!!  Isn't funny though we can get up early to do the things we love but have such a hard time getting up to go to work!!? LOL...well that was me this morning!! :D

Here are some photos of my work in progress...

Here Jenny Bear is all stitched up.  Just need eyes and ears sewn on but before that, it was time for lunch.  Who needs to eat when you're making bears right? All I really needed was coffee with lots of sugar but no, I behaved and looked after my self by making a big bowl of noodles soup with tofu and home grown mushrooms.  Healthy? Just a little!! :D

Welcome to the world you!  I've managed to finish my Jenny Bear but she still needs something to wear.   For now, she's snug in Belle's quilt which I made for her using prints from Liberty of London.  That's what I used for this Jenny Bear's inner ears.   I'm loving Liberty of London again...I used to when I was living in London, it was one of my favourite shops to visit but when I got back to Australia I was so drawn to cutesy Japanese prints and had forgotten about Liberty until now when I was searching for fabrics to make a quilt for my Blythe doll Belle.I'm tempted to steal this for this Jenny Bear as this quilts suits her much better due to her matching ears..not sure how Belle feels about that though!
Boy time sure flies when I'm in my sewing room and before I knew it or had time to make a dress for this little girl, my alarm went off to remind me I had to go pick up my little boy from school!! Yes, I NEED an alarm clock to remind me of that else, time gets lost in my sewing room..TIME had no place in my studio before my boy came along!

Spending time in my sewing room is great, it really makes my day and I feel so happy just being in that moment in that room but what excites me more now is seeing my boy's face light up when his class room door swings open and he sees me eagerly waiting outside for him....ahhhhhhh

That was my day, hope you had an eventful or non eventful day but a blissful one.  Thank you to those who kept me company on Facebook and chats.  It really was a wonderful day! :D

Hugs,
Jenny

Bear Pattern for young children?

Often I get asked if I have patterns for young children.  A first hand made bear is always so special and definitely something to be treasured and pass down the generations.  A while ago, I created a "My First Bear" kit using safety joints and safety plastic eyes.   I no longer have the kit available however, I've been asked if I have the pattern is still available.

Yes I do, I've just converted it to PDF format!!  "My First Bear" pattern is based on my Puddle's pattern.   You can get it in my Etsy shop right here:
https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/510769632/bear-pattern-for-young-children-my-first?ref=shop_home_active_1

You will require the following items:
Fur: 1/8m mohair
Joints & Eyes: safety toy joints/ safety plastic eyes which can be purchased in Spotlight stores in Australia.

Please let me know if you have any questions and if you have trouble sourcing the safety joints or eyes.

I hope Puddles make a great heirloom gift for your little loved ones!

πŸ’– New JennyLovesBenny website πŸ’–

Hi All,

I've been working on JennyLovesBenny's website the past couple of weeks.  I know it wasn't too long ago when JLB's website got a facelift however, I wasn't completely happy with it and it's been eating at me so I made the decision to change it.

Although there are a lot of beautiful templates from web hosting companies, I felt the templates were pretty much the same with display of large photos spread across the screen, giving it a very modern and clean appearance.  Yes, it does look good, especially for traditional retail shops and businesses however, for me, I felt, the templates and the simplistic modern look lacked character and that little touch of magic.

I wanted to bring back some character and playfulness to JLB and definitely some magic.  If I had the technical skills, I would have butterflies flying across the screen, cherry blossoms gently falling and drifting to the bottom of the screen, snow flakes and rainbows..hmmm....I shall work on that!  For now,  I hope you like the new look!

I've brought back hard copies of my patterns as I know many of you still prefer to receive patterns in the mail.  Yes, I too still enjoy getting letters in my physical mailbox.  It's always a nice surprise to find a letter, card or package in there! :D

Now you can purchase directly from the website along with the available kits and supplies like my earlier website.  You will eventually be able to purchase e-patterns directly from my website too but until that page is completed, my Etsy shop is still open.

The website is still working in progress, however, it is up and running.  I hope you like the new changes! :)
